Just wondering if anyone took my advice on my stock picks.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Caledonia Mining (CALVF) up 126.7% on volume of 1223.1 K. This stock has seen $8.00 before.

Durbin Deep (DROOY) up 18.5% on volume of 3645 K.

Battle Mountain Gold up 60% on volume of 6453.1 K

The train has left the station. Are you going to get on why you still can? I have spent the last 9 months investigating this market everyday for 3 to 6 hours a day. What you read from Andy 2000 is pretty much what is going on in the financial world. Fiat currency will burn. PM's will explode. You do not have much time to get on the train. By the way these are my only gold stock holdings. I made a paper profit of over $17,000.00 today including my December gold calls.

I was going to thank you and I just got home to see your post. Thanks much. Into bmg and drooy. Great play. I saw calvf but did not know anything about it so I wanted to wait. Do you still like it?

Looking at feb futures too.

Gold is on fire!

Flierdude,

I was reading y'alls posts last night and was very interested in CALVF. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no experience in the market. I also don't have a great deal of money (very little in fact). I was looking at the etrade.com site last night wanting to buy in. I was unclear on a couple of things though.

1) If the "bid size" is 5000, does that mean that is the minimum number of shares you can purchase? If so, are there other companies where you can by fewer shares.

2)Are there any trade companies on the net that don't require a large deposit first (like the $2000 that etrade and ameritrade require). Preferably a company that charges a small fee without any kind of deposit. It seems like I've heard of these before.

Thanks.

No, not your selections.

However, I do have my own (beginning with Greenstone (GRE:T),Geomaque (GEO:T) and Placer Dome (PDG-T)). If the indications are correct we are heading rapidly for nosebleed territory and your $17,000 profit today will look like a trickle. Off to the races.

Congratulations to you all. While I am not able to get on any trains right now, you can find me cheering for you in the spectator stands.

Sincerely, Stan Faryna

While we only have one train here (and no track!), I think it would be more prudent for me to get on the (sail) boat!

trying etc,

1. The bid and ask size are not your minimums, and in most cases you can ignore them and trade 100 shares or multiples of 100 shares. However, when you buy "at the market", you get to pay the ask, not the bid; when you sell "at the market", you get the bid.

2. I would guess that if you are new to a brokerage, they would usually like to see some money up front, IMHO.
