reissue of Prince books

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread

I have recently heard that some of the Prince books may be reissued soon. Any validity to this ?

The ACL never gets the proper respect. The ad in Railfan offers a Prince book titled "Atlantic Coast Railroad"!

The ACL & SAL HS will be selling the ACL and SAL Prince reprints at a discount. Indiana Univ. plans to have both published in time for our Jacksonville meeting this coming February 18-20, and they will be available by mail as well of course.

Indiana University Press, according to their Railroads specific catalog, will be reprinting the entire 10 volume Prince set. The first three will be ACL, SAL and L&N (68 revised edition). I called and the ACL book is the only one currently in their computer, due out in Spring 2000 with a price of $49.95. Others should be around the same cost. For those who would like further information, their address is 601 North morton Street, Bloomington, IN 47404-3797. Their phone number is 1-800-842-6796 or fax 1-812-855-7931. Reprints normally drop the value of original copies, but don't look for drastic discounts, at least not yet anyway.

Yesm it is true. I have been in contact with Indiana University Press, and they have confirmed that they will be re-printing the ACL and SAL books in Spring 2000. That's probably why there's been so many for sale at shows lately!
