Try online auctions for gold coin deals

If you're looking to buy gold coins, you might want to try the online auctions like . You can usually get a better deal than you could from your local coin store. Good luck, just don't bid against me! :)

Before checking an auction, please make sure you understand the value of that upon which you might wish to bid. Browse www.ajpm.com. This site includes a daily quote of market gold/siver prices as well as a buy/sell price for the suite of gold and silver eagles.

I have visted several auctions (though many months ago)and found the price at AJPM to be almost always better. There are other good sites, but this is the one I am most familiar with. Andy, is my info still reasonable, and can you add to my singleton list?

Sincerely,

ajpm is good, but they charge $10 for shipping any order under a certain number of oz. I'm just a poor college student and can only by my coins 1/10 oz at a time. I may pay a bit over ajpm on ebay, but I save on shipping. ymmv.

Also try Goldmasters Online. Market prices, reasonable shipping, and excellent service.

That Goldmaster site bombed out my browser twice -- had to reboot. Not gonna try it again.
Semper, it they're legit, and you care, tell them to cut the crap with the Java and/or whatever other shit they're doing.

Unfortunately, I don't have the cash to do gold and platinum eagles. But I have a decent connection right now and, perhaps, a fair discount for 500 units. If anyone is interested in getting large orders, I may be of assistance. Email me and I'll do the best I can to get you a decent quote.

Unlike a previous respondant, I would avoid Goldmasters. I've bought from them enough and the deals go through, but they play games with what they say at their web site. For example, if you want to make a purchase at a given price, and submit the online purchase request at their quoted price... if the spot price of gold subsequently arises, they'll email your confirmation with the newer price. In other words, they will not honor their offered price. Nor will there be an explanation.

On the other hand, if the price goes down, do not look for the confirmation to reflect the reduced price.

Once ordered, the deal goes through OK with them. But I don't like bait and switch of offered price. I don't deal with them anymore.
