Just fer fun, let's cast the movie that will come out during the Christmas season of 2000!Titles are up for grabs
The title will be "Honey, I Ate The Kids"
It will be a fact-based story of one familys struggle to survive in the collapse of civilization after Y2K hits. Tense drama when the family is forced to kill their neighbors mixes with slapstick comedy as we watch the family try to get their woodstove working in the dead of winter. In the dramatic climax, the family realizes that the only way they can continue to survive is by killing the children and eating them.
The cast will be made up of anyone who's left.
The movie will be rated PG-13 for strong language and graphic violence and cannibalism. However, the rating will be irrelevant, since most of the children under 13 will be dead anyway.
-- (leo@nighttime.watcher), September 24, 1999.
Cassandra project = Paloma O'Riley?
-- Dennis (djolson@pressenter.com), September 24, 1999.
I would watch anything if Clint Walker was in it. Ladies remember The Night of the Grizzly?
-- Carol (glear@usa.net), September 24, 1999.
Does Leo=Milne?ROTFLMAO!
-- (it was a dark @and stormy.night), September 24, 1999.
Patrick Stewart plays John KoskinenIn a particularly tight spot with hungry mobs yelling for his head, John Koskinen spins around (pun intended) and calls for his 'Number 1' then for the first time realizes he hasn't one.
Remembering his training, he loudly and arrogantly addresses the crowd and tries to convince them that they aren't really there. When that doesn't work, he congratulates them for their hard work and diligence in getting through the White House gates and past the guards, and assures them that he is just going to the bathroom and WILL be back in no more than 1 minute.
-- Canuck (canuck@canada.com), September 24, 1999.
"and tries to convince them that they aren't really there?"LOL! LOL! LOL!
-- Cecil (b@de.mill), September 24, 1999.
What about Alan Greenspin? There's some cable chanel that his this one old guy with large ears talking about the Bible 24/7 (or at least he's always there as I am flipping through the stations). Have no idea what his name is but he would be my first choice to play Greenspin. I have never seen either smile, and doubt it is possible. 2nd choice would be the guy who pays Tealk from Stargate... with a Gold Eagle (or a Euro?) stuck on his forehead instead of that symbol used in Stargate.
Koskinen... the Wendy's guy.
I think there should be a role for Jesse Ventura... no.. not because of the physical resemblance, but for the no nonsense talk. Milne? Gary North? Old Git?
So if Jesse has a role, don't we have to find a role for Perot too? Just for the fun of watching him. Tim May?
Jane Curtain as FAA's Jane Garvey?
Jeckle/Hyde as DeJaeger?
Ahhh... the Blues Brothers as Bennett/Dodd.
Billy Graham as the head of American Bankers Association.
Casper the Ghost as Al Gore. No... the Invisible Man as Al Bore!
Warren Beatty as Clinton.
Gotta be a role for David Copperfield... making those mission critical systems disappear.
Elmer Fudd as NERC?
-- Linda (lwmb@psln.com), September 24, 1999.
Got to observe Dick Mills at last spring's utility forum in Boston. In person, he's a *spitting image* of Victor Borge (sp?), with a touch of Victor's natural arrogance and amusement. (Actually, Victor said he was most concerned about the panic that would occur when the Y2K movies started coming out this September, so he would have all of his supplies by then.)
-- Brooks (brooksbie@hotmail.com), September 24, 1999.
Who's going to play DiETeR? <:)=
-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), September 24, 1999.
Mike Meyers as Gary North. Kind of a white-haired Austin Powers.Angela Lansbury as Old Git.
When I read DiETeR, the voice I hear in my head is Max Headroom with a German accent.
-- Thinman (thinman38@hotmail.com), September 24, 1999.
I'm thinking Oscar the Grouch for DiEtER.Andy - PeeWee Herman (he with the 24 hour woody)
KOS - PeeWee Herman

-- Deano (deano@luvthebeach.com), September 24, 1999.
Charlton Heston.....starring as INVARIf we can do some retro-casting, John Wayne.....starring as Liberty
Sean Connery.....starring as Tim May
-- Wilferd (WilferdW@aol.com), September 24, 1999.
Only one question--Poole, Hoffy, cpr, and Doc Paulie as internet celebrities in the same category as Ed Yourdon, Jim Lord, Gary North, et al???? LOL!
-- RUOK (RUOK@yesiam.com), September 24, 1999.

You name them, we'll CAST them!
-- Cecil (b@de.mill), September 24, 1999.
We can get any tail wagging boot licking dog to play Poole and CPR. How about Flipper to play the guppy part Paul DAvis..
-- y2k dave (xsdaa111@hotmail.com), September 24, 1999.
Somebody be sure to run down to Tyson's for a chicken.
-- h (h@h.h), September 24, 1999.
I think I'll take the Where's the Beef Lady over Angela Lansbury. But I rather like the character of the subject of Throw Momma off the Train, or whatever that was. Unfortunately, both of those ladies are dead, so I guess I have to go with Katherine Hepburn. Ha! Just asked Sweetie, he says the woman who played John Cleese's wife on Fawlty Towers, forget the name. I think that's pretty close. Then he said, "But maybe John Cleese in drag. . ." and I swatted him.
-- Old Git (anon@spamproblems.com), September 24, 1999.

This is going to be a musical comedy isn't it?
-- Nikoli Krushev (doomsday@y2000.com), September 24, 1999.
Old Git,And here I worried that Angela Lansbury would be insulting! By the way, wasn't Sybil played by Prunella Scales? Or was that the actress who played Polly?
How 'bout Lou Diamond Phillips for Sysman (It's the pony tail thing).
-- Thinman (thinman38@hotmail.com), September 24, 1999.
I'll be glad to play myself...and I'll work for scale!I suggest that we film part of it on the island of Kaua'i. (Besides, it's nice and warm that time of year...) I'll even volunteer the use of my bunker...
-- Mad Monk (madmonk@hawaiian.net), September 24, 1999.
Very nice music!Now--where is the optimist's answer to the "Mission Impossible Theme?"

Actually, Jack Nicholas could play ALL the male irritants--cpr, Doc Paulie, Decker, Flint, etc. Wait--I think I like Al Pacino for Decker. What abvout Cagney for cpr? And I think I see Peter Lorre, Jr. as Wolverine. I rather like Dustin Hoffman for Cherri; Shelley Winters for Troll Maria. Has to be Peter Cushing for Flint. Brian, I'd like to see Hugh Grant play you! Stan--oh Clark Gable, definitely. Bogart for Big Dog, Alan Alda for Chuck. Faye Dunaway as Mommie Dearest could do a good Spooner. Chicken Little? -- Deborah (infowars@yahoo.com), September 25, 1999.
Suggestions from Ms.Consensus Herself:I'd like to see a collaberation between PRODUCER DEANO and PRODUCER CHRIS. I'm confident that Pee Wee and Anthony could, together, pull the whole thing off. Of course, we'd need Dustin to smooth out the rough edges, and Meryl Streep to add poignancy to the final production. Obviously, we need the good Mr. Gates as a backer.
Collaberatively yours, with aloha always, grngrl
-- grngrl (jhandt@gte.net), September 25, 1999.
Oh my goodness, I can go to sleep happy now. Thank you, Deborah,...I always wanted to be Bette!! I can do great Sophie Tucker jokes,(the real raunchy ones, warming the cockles of your tasteful little hearts), and sing along with her rendition of John Prine's "Hello in There". Not a dry eye in the house.I could never be a casting director. You folks are amazing! Bravo!
--She in the sheet, very Bette-like attire!
-- Donna (moment@pacbell.net), September 25, 1999.
Thinman, right, Prunella Scales. Except I'm much taller and have chestnut hair (now heavily silver) in a, um, natural style rather than heavily coiffed. Mind you, that John Cleese in drag seems more and more possible. I'm thinking of the Motorcycle Grannies. . .Andy--Oh I know!!!
And finally, imitation really is the sincerest form of flattery:

-- Old Git (anon@spamproblems.com), September 25, 1999.
Steve Martin plays Gary North.
-- buying (my@advance.ticket), September 25, 1999.
Diane - Shelly Winters or Kathleen Bates? -- all in fun;-D
Oh thanks. Does that mean an oscar winning performance is required?
Remember the Bionic Woman series with Lindsey Wagner? Id rather tryout for that part... something like... able to jump over Koskinen in a single bound... or arm-wrestle him into revealing the Y2K truth.
(Jodie Foster is a second runner up--thanks Deborah).
So, How do we set the stage?
Millennium countdown, December 31st 1999... At the ICC Information Coordination Center (command bunker)... the Koskinen character leans over the computer screen watching satellite relay scenes from Sydney, Australia... and the stunning aftermath of a nearby chemical plant on fire, an oil refinery billowing black smoke, and HAZMAT crews going wild amid sirens and dashing emergency management crews trying to evacuate the population of a major metropolitan area...
Cut to head shot... white-faced offical... eyes bugging out...
KOSKINEN: ???
[Okay troops... what does he say?]
-- Diane J. Squire (sacredspaces@yahoo.com), September 25, 1999.
Hey Diane, our apartment was built by Lindsey Wagner! :-)
