OT: Pat Buchanan is on Rush Limbaugh right now complaining about NWO, CFR, Republican elitists, Bush's foreign advisors, etc.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Sounds a lot like Andy, minus the Reptile stuff. Hmm. If Pat hadn't called y2k a hoax last fall, I'd almost want to vote for him...

Go! Pat. Go!

-- CygnusXI (noburnt@toast.net), September 21, 1999.

I wanna vote for him, too, but DON'T!!! Or we get Gore!

Buchanan really, really is gonna be the spoiler.

-- lisa (lisa@work.now), September 21, 1999.

Lisa, Are you a W. fan? (I know yer a Texan.) I don't really want the Bush CIA cabal back in the White House. If Clinton is the evilest president ever (as many on the forum seem to believe), Bush Sr. was #2. I just don't think W. is very smart. Gore may be wooden and dull, but he's got a brain. I don't want him in the White House either, believe me, but I think he's the lesser of two evils. Unfortunately, there probably isn't any other choice. Actually, I don't think there IS a lesser of two evils in this case. Is Pat Paulson running again this year? (actually, I think he may have died.)

(Hey,CygnusXI -- RE Rush (the band) I always thought the parts were better than the whole.)

-- pshannon (pshannon@inch.com), September 21, 1999.

Lisa, you sound like Rush and the shills he defends. I'm gonna vote for Pat and I don't care if we get Bore. I'm sick of theese so called republicans that do a turncoat 180 when they get into office. I may not like or agree with all that Pat aspouses, but he tell's you what he honestly and TRULY believes and let's you know exactly where he stand's.

It's not about winning at any cost. What good is it to strut around saying, all right the repub's got in, when the one who "got in" is nothing more than a different shade of grey on the same globalist/internationalist/sell out our soverignty(sp) elitist jerk.

You, along with everyone else has a MORAL DUTY to vote for whomever is THE BEST suited to bring our country to greatness. And please, don't spout that "spoiler" crap. That same attitude of "your wasting your vote" is an old propaganda line used to sway joe dumbass into voting for who the media says is leading or likely to win, instead of voting for who he/she WANTS TO.

I'm up here in Minnesota, and TPTB tried that old BS line on us...It didn't work. The Minnesota people, luckily, saw through it. We electet Jesse Ventura. Not because he's a celebrity, or because of his individual views, or even his experience, but just because we were tired of DEM's and REP's lying and BSing us and turning sides when they saw fit. Jesse say's it like it is and he tells the truth to the best he can. Once we get the Honesty and Integrity back into American politics THEN and only then can we start digesting the issues. For if there is no honesty there can be no solutions.

No vote is wasted!

-- CygnusXI (noburnt@toast.net), September 21, 1999.

Pshannon, Hope you were kidding about the "is he running" thing. He's about to give the GOP the middle finger and join the refom party. Word in the know is that he has the full support of old Ross, but unfourtunatly W and his crew are wooing old Jesse V. to get the reform party not to endorse him. Stay tuned, if there are elections it will be interesting!

-- CygnusXI (noburnt@toast.net), September 21, 1999.

Well, Cygnus, certainly wasn't aiming to incur your wrath, perhaps I should supplicate a little?

"I'm gonna vote for Pat and I don't care if we get Bore."

I ain't making that mistake again. I voted for Perot.... ouch. Don't get me wrong: I adore Buchanan but honestly believe he's gonna mess it up.

I live in Austin with Dubbya so I perhaps see more of him than many. Do I want him for prez? Not as much as I want Buchanan but way more than I want Gore. Apologize if this seems a defenseless position to you.... once bitten, twice shy.

-- lisa (lisa@work.now), September 21, 1999.

Is there a Pat Buchanan/Ron Paul ticket in our future?

-- a (a@a.a), September 21, 1999.

Sorry Lisa, I'm just a little sick of the whole thing I didn't mean to come off so defensive. Talk about once bitten, honey I'm covered in bite marks. Anyway, I just hope our future is bright. Have a good one:)

-- CygnusXI (noburnt@toast.net), September 21, 1999.

ain't gonna be no gore. additional clinton improprieties and bradley's rising numbers will cause democrats to walk away from al. bush's hot-headedness and lack of maturity will surface during bradley debates. president bradley presides over y2k clean-up and continuing recession. hillary, who never did run for senate, elopes with an ellen degeneris look-alike.

-- corrine l (corrine@iwaynet.net), September 21, 1999.

Cygnus,

I was a big Rush fan in high school, back when they were *playing* Toronto high schools. Very y2k-ish, in terms of lyrics.

Cheers,

-- PH (ag3@interlog.com), September 21, 1999.

Cygnus, I asked if Pat Paulson is running again this year, not Buchanan. (Actually, it's Paulsen, and he died in 1997) He was a comedian who was on the ballot every year from like'68 to '96. (give or take) That was his schtick. He was also on "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour." He was serious, but knew he couldn't win, kinda like "Grandpa Munster" here in New York State.

-- pshannon (pshannon@inch.com), September 21, 1999.

Corrine 1 - wow.

Bradley and who else?

-- lisa (lisa@work.now), September 21, 1999.

If we could get Ron Paul into office with him, I'd be glad to vote for Buchanan, as a team. When Perot first announced he was running, I stood outside a county fair just a week after my mother's death, while experiencing real grief, to get signatures for him, because I felt it was my patriotic duty to try to help bring in a new party of the people and which believed in the Constitution. Wouldn't it be wonderful......

-- Elaine Seavey (Gods1sheep@aol.com), September 21, 1999.

Buchanon has alot to say but does he have any y2k pearls? As far as I know, he is as silent on y2k as everyone else.

-- Lars (lars@indy.net), September 21, 1999.

Lisa;

If you like Buchanan, by all means, VOTE FOR HIM. Maybe thousands of other people think he can't win, so they're going to vote for one of the other two clowns instead - that way, a good man like Buchanan won't stand a chance. Vote what you believe. I PLAN TO VOTE FOR BUCHANAN. a(a@a.a): I never did hear Buchanan say he thought y2k was a hoax, although I will take your word for it. If that was last year, perhaps he has become a GI by now. I hope so. In any event, we need strong leadership in the years to come - picture Dubya or Bore in your mind - is that strong leadership? Anyone who would like to check out Buchanan's website, go to www.gopatgo.org

-- Scarlett (creolady@aol.com), September 21, 1999.

Lars & Scarlett: On Crossfire last fall, they debated y2k. Pat said he thought it was a big hoax. Most politicians did back then. Some still do. Hopefully he still doesn't. I saw the program and posted a thread but now i can't locate it.

-- a (a@a.a), September 21, 1999.

a:

I'm going to e-mail Buchanan's headquarters and see if I can get a statement regarding y2k. I'll let you know what they say. :-)

-- Scarlett (creolady@aol.com), September 22, 1999.

I don't think Buchanan will get the Reform Party nomination. He has too much baggage. I'm hoping for Charles Collins, or Donald Trump, whom Ventura supports.

-- Tim the Y2K nut (tmiley@yakko.cs.wmich.edu), September 22, 1999.

Tim:

Please elaborate on Buchanan's "baggage" - do you have some specific facts? Also, I'm curious, why Donald Trump? What are his qualifications, other than the fact that he is rich? Oh, he ran around on his wife, too, but I think the American people have already had enough sleaze in the White House.

-- Scarlett (creolady@aol.com), September 22, 1999.

Vote for Dan Quale,he's stupid!

-- zoobie (zoobiezoob@yahoo.com), September 23, 1999.

The Republican/Democratic nexus has been called by Gore Vidal the 'Bankparty;' two sides of the same piece of nutritionless bread. If you like globalism, vote for 'W' or Gore or Bradley: they'll furnish the goods for their International Banking masters. Buchanon is in the mold of Robert Taft, and the elites hate him, but keep him around as a useful straw man. The water is being slowly heated to boiling, and we are the lobsters.

-- Spidey (in@jam.now), September 23, 1999.

Spidey:

I'm not sure I understand what you mean about Buchanan being kept around as a straw man. Please elaborate on this. Thanks.

-- Scarlett (creolady@aol.com), September 23, 1999.

Cygnus:

It was great to hear someone talk about "moral duty". Haven't heard those words since Clinton took office. GO PAT GO!

-- Scarlett (creolady@aol.com), September 23, 1999.

pshannon, why give up on Pat Paulson? Even a dead person would be better than the current stiffs. A Dead President would cause less damage. Gots our vote ;^)

-- Ashton & Leska in Cascadia (allaha@earthlink.net), September 23, 1999.

Voting for the lesser of two evils -- you still get evil.
The only wasted vote is a vote for someone other than your first choice because you don't think you first choice can win.

-- A (A@aisA.com), September 23, 1999.

The problem with Buchanan is that he is a religious wacko (a Catholic who appears to really believe in their crap morality. As opposed to JFK [not Jr.] who was only nominally Catholic.)

The 'dream ticket' for all the Christian wackos who want the U.S. to be a Christian theocracy: Buchanan for Pres, and Gary North for VP. :-)
