My prediction is...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

My entire family got on board to prepare fo Y2K February 1998. We are true believers and have changed our lifestyle to get ready. No regrets. And we 've seen a lot of predictions come to nothing at all. Staying current on Y2K news and developments has been a daily routine. We are savvy to what's going on, we know we are being set up in a big way. As post-millenial Calvinists we also know God is just and will not be mocked.Any one read Deut. chapter 28 lately? We are overdue for His visitation, if you are still following me. It's been frustrating seeing peple ignore all suggestions to make any preparations at all. I believe that most Americans are unable to imaginre any dramatic chenge to their lifestyle. So, here is MY PREDICTIO : "There will NOT be a mass panic to buy food, consumer goods and general emergency supplies until the first week of January 2000". This is based on my opinion that people are, firstly, under a shroud of delusion that prevents them from thinking clearly.( God will send a deluding spirit on a people who ask for it..) Secondly, because Americans worship an idol, a golden calf that they exalt over the Lord. The stock market and prosperity in general. They will serve their false god until it falls down. Since we all are amazed that it keeps rallying maybe it won't crash until late December. Thirdly, people are now programmed against preparing, thanks to Koskinem and testosterone challenged pastors. They will wait. Oh, they won't be waiting until the last minute either, thats my point. They are off guard. The masses are not poised to turn off the highway and head to Walmart credit card in hand to load up at the sudden news of nucleur power plants being shut down or at the news of a Fortune 500 mainframe falling over. They are asleep until after the fact, which is the first week of January. Ta-dah ! There you have it! Thanks to Andy@2000, Big Dog, Gary North, R.J. Rushdooney, and Jim Lord.

My entire family thinks I am nuts. So what. I'm set for any scenario. Complete chaos to BITR. Are you? ;)

Yes I am ready. I truly believe that something is going to happen. What I don't know. But you prepare for the worst and hope for the best that way there are no surprizes. If things go worse than I have planned for then I say thank the Gods that I was raised a RedNeck and can live off the land for a while If I NEED to. Who knows??

At this point, my assessment is that unless something big happens earlier, in December the sheeple will start to wake up and prep, but not before.

I become more convinced each day that nothing short of a war breaking out in this country will get peoples attention. It is just not getting anybodys attention. Religious stuff aside, Y2K is a non-starter for most Americans. They will not do anything, period!!

Maybe "they" are right, it won't be any big deal.

"They" had BETTER be right.

I'd rather be called "nuts" and have food than to have no food and only two nuts.

I recently heard an NPR report of the Community Conversations held in NYC. One of the Panelists stated that they would not begin informing the public to prepare till October.
