OUR city mgr., informed us that they will have x-tra security at local dam-site, ALSO expecting riot,s' DUE TO FACT that we have high welfare population here.also 70% retiree,s. hard to believe, but alot of senior,s are armed to teeth, say if military tries to move em, they gonna resist. ain,t gonna be relocated at there age.also been hearing that outsider,s not welcome.

I get it,

Interesting, but I can't get over the frequency with which these stories lack simple, factual info, such as:

What city? What dam? City Manager's name?

Well...

I live near a dam, it's a retirement community, and the National Guard once a year brings in tanks, personnel and they practice terrorist manuevers. This is nothing new, all federal/state have these manuevers regularly.

Al-d, I'll bet the FBI knows where YOU are.

Al-d,

Thanks for the totally on-topic, non-denominational post...I sincerely appreciate that.

This is another interesting bit to mix into the "overheard at..." category. Thanks for supplying some additional info.

Who cares if the FBI knows where you live? Like what the fuck have you done wrong? I think there's just too much paranoia on this forum.

i get it,

I could understand some concern about possible terrorist activity blowing up the dam, or dumping poison into the dam if it's also used for drinking purposes. But why on earth would there be concerns about riots? Why would the military want to move the people out of that forlorn town. I drove through there a month or so ago, on my way to Tucson, and it seems pretty remote to me.
