Don't know about the rest, but I'm feeling OK!

Just wanted to say hi to all and glad that the dreaded nines have not yet wreaked an immediate catastrophe! I've waited through all the "redflag" dates and things are still ticking, stock market is yet uncrashed and we've got plenty of preps! Don't know about the rest of you, but I am feeling OK. Maybe not quite relieved but happy that things so far have not collapsed. How about the rest of you?

Of course we're all happy that things haven't collapsed but I seriously doubt if anyone on this board expected things to collapse on any of these non-Y2K dates.

Yes, Barb, I am relieved. If there had been immediate and public problems I would have ratcheted up my Doomer expectations from 5/6 to 8/9. My relief is tempered by the realization that some JAE problems (another non-event according to some folks) were not publicized last January but just became public last month.

Relieved about the Nines? yes

Still cautious? yes

We'll see if some hidden Nine problems come to light in October and November, but for now I'm willing to think it is a good sign that obvious and severe crashes have not happened today.

Margaret:

I don't really care how many problems are kept hidden, so long as they stay hidden and only come to light after the fact. Essentially, if "they" can hide y2k, or "conspire" to keep it a secret from us, I'm all in favor. It's the stuff they *can't* hide that I worry about.

Margaret, we're still fairly conservative at a "5" and have not yet raised our numbers, if anything, we've backed down the scale over the past six months. I'm glad to read that someone else might actually be feeling cautious but optimistic. Thanks for the response. Best wishes to all.

Good Grief!!! Am I actually agreeing with Flint on something???

Barb, forget about the nines.

Beware of the dreaded sixes!

Fellin' groovy, Barb!

I know it comes as a shock to a certain few of the Pollies, who just know that all G.I.s are praying for an end to civilization, but each one of these dates that pass, mean just that many more months that I can enjoy what is, for the most part, a very sweet life.

Here's to hoping that 01/01/00 is just as uneventful.

I like civilization okay. I'm so used to it. I love flushing the toilet!!! I love having a cup of coffee and taking a bath. I love just sitting around musing about stuff.

This whole 9/9/99 issue and all of the other dates which could have caused y2k-1 problems cause me to ask this question. If you were a Y2K project manager and had to prioritize which systems to fix first, wouldn't you fix those which might fail first? Just a thought.
