Impact Of Y2K On Technology Spending -- Large corporations John Roberts

The impact of Y2K compliance on corporate IT spending had yet to peak as of June, according to CRN survey data. Thirty-seven percent of large corporations ($500 million plus in annual revenue) surveyed by CRN said that Y2K was a major factor behind recent IT spending increases. This was up from 27 percent in April, and the highest figure since CRN began asking this question in the third quarter of last year. Survey data from August will determine if this trend is persisting into the second half of this year, even as the Y2K deadline approaches.

It seems that this trend is moving in the wrong direction if things were headed for a BITR.
