End of Pollydom? Navy War College Pagesgreenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
The stomping ground for pollies has been getting smaller. After reading even part of these docs, I fail to see where pollyanna-ism has any intellectual basis left. Maybe things won't be as bad as the Navy docs suggest, but No Big Problem? Huhh?I sent these links to my DGI friends in one last attempt to get them to move, as opposed to depending on me- not that I won't help them, but even after prepping for a year my resources are limited.
OK, Pollys, whatcha say now?
Here are the links, for as long as they last:

The pollies will parrot stuff like in this thread

Downloaded all this from Gary north and think it needs a lot of analysis. Hopefully a few of the regulars can give their thoughts after real consideration.Pollys will always say the same thing, regardless of any new fact or analysis.

ForrestMy how time fly's! This is relatively old news but always worth another look.
I tried to gather up all the relevant links and post on this thread a while back so folks could see the history of the report from within the forum.
The Project Director even posted a few comments on some of the threads below.

>>[Doomers] will always say the same thing, regardless of any new fact or analysis.<<I think it makes more sense this way.

thanks for the informative links--the scariest stuff I've read in a while. Good reinforcement for me to continue in my preparations!

Cath and othersThis report is all speculation used for contingency planning. It is ment for exploring options. Don't start handing it out as facts.

Brian....Isn't it ALL speculation?? You have no more idea than I as to what will happen. The War College produces many hypothetical cases for many, many situations but the generals take them all pretty seriously. "Plan for the worst, Hope for the best". I hope you haven't placed all your faith in the stuff dribbling down from Wonderland on the Potomac (pretty rank...unless you're using your Berky.)
