My cousin Jeanne shared information with me about a William H. Romaine, son of John Romaine. He is buried with his father in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy Hollow (North Tarrytown), Westchester County, NY; d. 27 May 1869. According to New York City Methodist Marriages (again, citation from Jeanne), he married Mary Ann Hears, 24 Dec 1847, New York. We're uncertain if there were children. The burial plot includes some Hursts (variation or coincidence?), and the Cemetery office was helpful to a point. (They want several decades of maintenance!)

I was curious about whether this William might have been father of the William H. Romaine who served as a Captain in the Civil War. His pension record never mentions his parents. The life dates he recorded are not likely to make them father-son. Here's my summary on Captain William H. Romaine
