How 'bout those utilities listed in the Navy report?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I just went to visit the Niagara Mohawk website to see if they've posted anything in their press release section. Latest was August 18, 1999, about how they're going to be lowering electricity rates (yeah, right.... OT)

Wouldn't you think that they'd have some kind of response to what the Navy (supposedly publicly) thinks of their ability to provide NG to their customers? Watertown, NY was on the list as LIKELY to have TOTAL failure in NG distribution, as well as water & sewer.

The water & sewer is no surprise to anyone around here (20 miles out of town), Watertown PW folks were the yahoos who said they had plenty of paper & pencils to handle any computer glitches. Wonder what the folks down at the ol' treatment plant are thinking now. Wonder if I'll get any response to my e-mails.

If you haven't yet, send a copy of Jim Lord's papers to the local managers. Then a copy to the utilities. Make sure to cc. the local papers and news broadcasters!

If for no other reason, it's always fun to listen to the silence!
