Hiding valuables

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I have tried without success to locate previous threads on this topic, especially with regard to burying valuables. Does anyone know where I could find them?

I have also asked this question on the Prep forum.

Thank you.

If you explain on a public forum how to hide stuff, then everyone knows where to look to find your stuff. Perhaps this should be handled in PGP encrypted Email.

Howdy city-girl, accouple of quick ones for you. If you need to bury out side, consider PVC pipe. You can buy a single large length and get a number of screw on end caps. They will be water tight. If your hiding in doors, get a small safe and fill it with play money an put it in a fairly discoverable spot. that should get them out of the house quick, and give them a little rush when they finaly get it open. Walk your home and try and figure out if you were a thief were a Y2K savy person would hide there stuff, then dont put it there. I have 4 levels in my condo, many stairs, I rolled back the carpet on one stair, cut a hole in the back of the stair and fit a very nice fireproof vault, put back the carpet and you cany tell. Good Luck

Read some history about the founding of the country.

The early colonists were great at hiding things from the British. (hint, hint, hint)

Gold coins are small, about the size of a quarter. If you hide them separately, instead of all in the same place, a thief won't have time to locate them all.

Even a small home has lots of hiding places for small objects.

Then all you have to do is remember where you hid them. Better than any Easter egg hunt.
