Meteors, August 12, 1999

Sitting here languidly I wait for the night sky to explode. A million diamonds Resting sensually on a bed of black Velvet. God is with me.

He laughs at his own putrid jokes Knowing the night is almost done. Tomorrow is the reckoning, a Day of Destiny according to Some. God is foolish.

It is beginning. The fabric is sliced open. Only to be knitted In the span of a breath. Eternity Closed eyes.

Sorry about the formatting. Imagine stanzas where the CAPITALS start. Anyway, it looked better in my Word program.

bardou:

Overcast skies in northwestern Ohio.

No meteors visible.

Just two orange glowing spaceships.

Oh well, maybe next time...

Beautiful, clear skies in East Central Nebraska. I've seen a couple so far. I just wish I wasn't so close to the city (Omaha)

Wonderful

Randolph: If you don't post anything tomorrow should we call the authorities? I mean, perhaps those two glowing spaceships abducted you....beam me up Scotty!

lucky Randolph!

Just came back inside. The skies are clear in the Houston area tonight. We saw about 10 in a 15 minute period. You have to be out of the city where it's dark to see the ones that are not as bright. What a neat sight.

We saw some mosquitoes that were almost as big as spaceships. Does that count? They were trying to "carry us away," too! :-)

If there's one thing you can count on, with an unrelenting and depressing regularity, it is always cloudy, in Cincinnati, on the night of the Perseids.

Tonight's the last night for the meteor shower. We have an excellent view from our house and the stars were spectacular!

bardou:

I'm glad you've still maintained your sense of humor.

Today at the factory I had a computer programmer ask me about long term storage supplies.

I was quite taken aback because previously he had mocked Y2K.

He has recently moved into the outskirts of my city and is heavily in debt with a new house. (Kewl location with a pond nearby and fertile fields, IMHO).

He still thinks events regarding Y2K will be but a bump in the road, yet he is now considering preparing for TEN, count 'em, TEN days of problems should there be the "ICE STORM" scenerio.

I do care for certain coworkers. They are honest, hard working people, but they are NOT able to accept that this world of JIT distribution will be turned UPSIDE DOWN WTSHTF. They grow uncomfortable when the topic is discussed.

The stock market is always interesting to discuss. I remember some of your past replies.

I truly believe that there will be one final bull run, historically high, before the entire stock market crashes along with the bonds and funds and real estate markets.

Many investors will be in total shock!

Their hearts will skip a beat.

Then they will decide to sell fast!

But it will be too late.

Feel free to E-mail me privately if you want to communicate without public interference from the trolls on this forum.

bardou: We have had two weeks of clear skies night and day with temps running 106 to 110 during the day. I ran outside to see the meteors and behold ! an overcast...Oh,well next time?
