Someone hit a Grand Slam here.

Well I guess if you have lots of bucks to splurge on gold then go for it! Investing in gold is just as risky as investing in the stock market. Your gambling that gold will increase in value. Maybe it will and maybe it won't. I can't afford to take the chance. Your remark "buy gold and silver or be a homeless dumb ass in 12 months!" I don't have any gold and I won't be homeless I guarantee you that!

-- preparedone (preparedone@preparedone.com), August 08, 1999.

Keep in mind you also have to pay capital gains taxes when you try to resell the gold (capital gains taxes at 28% now, I believe).....so gold would really have to go up extremely high if you were wanting to make a profit...

-- mmmmmm (mmmmmm@yahoo.com), August 08, 1999.

I wish some one would shake me and wake me up!!! Is this the noxious Y2k Pro we have here? Will I wake up in the morning and this will all have been a dream?

Tune in for the next episode of "As The Worm Turns"!

Shakey, this Y2KPro person is really beginning to freak me out as well. First it's the pollies/shills turning up the volume in blatantly trollesque posts, and now this. Could this be some sort of double shill routine to make the doomers look like idiots to the uninitiated who happen by? Your opinions, sir, would be greatly appreciated.

-- CD (CDOKeefe@aol.com), August 08, 1999.

It seems to me that there is an attempt going on to destabilize the board....By the way, it appears that the sprynet address is a phony....Also exchange "idiots" in my previous post with "alarmist idiots."

-- CD (CDOKeefe@aol.com), August 08, 1999.

There are at least two Y2K Pros, one on AOL, the other on HotMail, or maybe there is another multiple personality posting.

Anyway, I won't be buying any gold or silver. I need to get some more garden seeds and garden supplies.

-- Randolph (dinosaur@williams-net.com), August 08, 1999.

It is evident that only one person that has posted so far has read this.

-- Y2K Pro (Y2Kpro@hotmail.com), August 08, 1999.

I read it. It seems in line with a lot of what I have read recently. The whole world is sick--there are a bunch of maniacs in charge. I am buying gold and silver, but mostly as a hedge and for pure survival. I think food and garden seeds are a good way to go, too.

-- Mara Wayne (MaraWayne@aol.com), August 09, 1999.

Y2K Pro,

I can't believe I agree with you. Gold and silver is the only true currency. The paper (fiat currency) is ready to burn. Thats why the smart money has been accumulating for quite some time. I hear Warren Buffett has taken physical possession of over 130 million ounces. He's no dummy.

-- smarten up people (GetSmart@nowbeforeitstolate.com), August 09, 1999.

I'v made it about half way through this and I'm blown away. Suddenly so many things make sense.

Tony Papert: And what it means to the listener, is, if you are participating in this "great stock market boom" through mutual funds or in other ways, or, God forbid, through derivatives, what you're doing, is helping artificially keep the price up, while the Big Guys get maximum returns for getting out of the whole market.

Why are the powers that be so very worried that the sheeple will pull their money out of the market and the banks? Obviously, that puts the power in the hands of the regular folk. It might even crash the system before they're ready for it.

Very, very chilling.

Off to finish reading.

Mike - although I've only read this just now myself - this is old news to me - this is just filling in the details - perhaps my old posts now (the Icke related NWO ones also) make a little more sense to you all...

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), August 09, 1999.

Michael,

Old Lyndon has an agenda as interesting as anyone else's.

-- flora (***@__._), August 09, 1999.

flora,

Yes he does - you are right - HOWEVER, don't shoot the messenger! - the agenda described in the link above fits in IMHO with all that I have been researching in this regard from WIDELY disparate sources - just connecting the dots flora :)

this is NO joke - this is REAL - this is happening NOW under all your noses...

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), August 09, 1999.

Andy,

You're obviously being trolled here. You may have the background to weigh information as you see fit, others are reading this stuff that may not have a feel for the content or the source.

Could you cite some reliable source material for them to follow-up with? I'm not flaming you, just caught a whiff of something stinky.

-- flora (***@__._), August 09, 1999.

Fair points flora,

I may be being trolled, I could give a flying f**k, - fact is the link cited above, the comments of the two gents - fits in pretty much with my own thinking. No I don't obviously know the whole story, just trying to figure out what's going on. I get my information from a VERY wide variety of sources, some private, so I can't go into details.

I would suggest that any newbies out there trying to piece together how the 12 or 13 major world "families" (I forget the precise number - I think it's 13) control us all (via banking and rigging of elections - in a very simple nutshell) read the last three David Icke books.

www.davidicke.com

Sorry I can't be more specific flora, but what's going on is so huge it's difficult to know where to start...

Another good reliable source is John Whitley of the NWO Intelligence Update. You can find him via www.sightings.com

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), August 09, 1999.

Andy,

Thanks for the response.

I'm unfamiliar with some of those sources. Do any have the least odor of anti-semitism?

-- flora (***@__._), August 09, 1999.

Not one iota.

I am an anti-Zionist - big big differenece. Not all Jews are Zionists, and not all Zionists are Jews. Jeez.

I worked on a Kibbutz for a while, been to Israel a few times.

Worked in Saudi Arabia for quite some time.

Friends in both countries.

Why would you ask me such an impertinent question, if you don't mind me asking, flora?

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), August 09, 1999.

Andy,

I wasn't asking you for your personal view, it was a check on the sources. I wish I had more time to read and catch up on this stuff.

YP looked like a fool playing with fire.

-- flora (***@__._), August 09, 1999.

Sorry flora, I misunderstood - as for anti-semitic viwes, I don't know much about Larouche, the sources that I personally give credence to are not anti-semitic, they are anti-zionist though. It's a minefield.

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), August 09, 1999.

Impersonated again! I would never advocate the purchase of gold - just like I would not suggest going to Vegas to get rich. And as far as Doomers looking like idiots, they sure don't need my help...

-- Y2K Pro (y2kpro1@hotmail.com), August 09, 1999.

Didn't do Siegfried and Roy any harm...

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), August 09, 1999.

Andy you are truly a Doombrooding idiot. Go back to your gold vault and leave the rational world alone. We don't need any infected minds like yours running free. So make a choice jerk, the gold vault or an insane asylum, you can't have both.

-- (Andy@is such an.idiot), August 09, 1999.

Although the question of paper versus precious metals, and what will happen with the "bubble", is fascinating in its own right, lets remember that Y2K sorely needs to be factored in. Having gold and silver coins in hand for possible bartering, and for re-building after a meltdown due to Y2K, is simply a very smart thing. Regardless of whether the official spot price of precious metals goes up or down in the next few months.

Andy,

A quick search turned up a couple of links:

http://www.libertysoft.com/liberty/features/mccormack52.html

I'll post the other one in a minute. To get backt to the 'don't shoot the messenger' thing, I'm a cynic by nature, with a long memory.

As best I can I try to look at the message, messenger, and motivation. Folks at large, everyone should have a basic understanding of economics, history, and their own opinion. Conspiracy buffs of any camp, know the common pitfalls of your point of view, and the groups that can or might manipulate people with those emotions.

Her ya go:

Broomies,

If the best you can do is dust up this old hornet's nest, then we're all in heap of trouble.

Andy,

When you're done with this, check out a Decker thread that came up while you were gone...is titled something like 'OT 'a' and nostalgia'. See if you can figure why he left me stranded on the dancefloor over there.

-- flora (***@__._), August 09, 1999.

flora,

Your points are very well taken. No doubt there is some positioning going on.

I do consider the source when reading an article and what chills me is the way certain, not all, circumstances and speculation come together to form a common sense scenario.

I'm not familiar at all with L.L. or much else in the world of finance quite honestly. I've never been able to get enough cash together to invest in anything really.

Thanks for the heads up. Still, I wonder why it is that there is such a panic right now in the banks and the financials and the government. It's as if they need to sustain the market bubble for as long as possible so the big investors can adjust strategy, etc.

I'd love more information to draw from.

Mike

egads, just visited your link flora.

L.L. is obviously not someone I have anything in common with. Still, there is some power there, huh?

Seems many have the ability to manipulate markets and sentiment...very chilling indeed. I get the feeling that people are going to be fighting each other soon over the last piece of the American pie and the big boys will win no matter what occurs.

It does indeed.

No, not necessarily very smart at all. Like anything else, it's a gamble. You can win, or you can lose. Gold might have value during the rebuilding, or they might be worthless after the catastrophe that is Y2K destroys our concept of "value" that we place in objects we can't use. Then you end up with a pile of pretty, but worthless rocks. If you're fabulously rich, then you can throw lots of money into gold and not worry about losing it. Most of us mere mortals, however, are forced to make a choice between survival preps and precious metals. A 'very smart thing' is to go with preps every time.

-- (gold@worthless.soon), August 09, 1999.

Mike,

Yeah, I was just reacting on an old vibe. They've really stepped in it here. There's an even worse history for the common man than economies tanking, it could easily be repeated soon.

Andy,

If I can't shoot the messengers, how about just wingin' 'em?

-- flora (***@__._), August 09, 1999.

Thanks in advance for the links flora, I haven't checked them out yet, I will and get back to you...

later,

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), August 09, 1999.

I tend to lump Lyndon LaRouche into the same category as David Bresnahan and Joseph Farah of WND, namely right wing extremists. But that doesn't mean that their underlying story of y2k and the rigging of the gold, stock and derivatives markets isn't 100% correct.

flora: I am awaiting Decker's response to these threads also:

For Decker: Another reason the Y2K economic downturn will be worse than the 30's

Y2K Economics 101 for Decker

His response to this thread would also be "revealing".
