OT...(sort of) Unanswered question

I asked a question in an earlier thread, but have seen no answers as of yet. It is mainly addressed to those who seem to be very optimistic about Y2K, that it will only be a BITR.

"...please list your reasons why you believe that our country will not and could not be betrayed and/or overthrown. What do you think will happen if we "sustain" a first nuclear strike without firing back, as Clinton has ordered?"

My unanswered question is: How come Clinton understood the ramifications of Y2K in 1996 but didn't hire Koskinen until last year and why wasn't he hammering on the rest of the world to start remediating until last winter?

Lisa, just a guess but I think he was hammering someone else there for a while and 'just forgot' about it until then.

Could be wrong, though.....
