COMET LEE

Date: Tue, 08 Jun 1999 08:43:18 -0400

Hey Earl,

I have been studying Nostradamus and many other prophecies, including Native American ones for years now. One of the other email lists I manage is for Nostradamus and prophecy scholars. A very important comet is a consistent item throughout the various cultures... this object is supposed to arrive about this time and coincide with a great period of troubles for mankind, including what sounds like an asteroid or cometary fragment impact.

Nostradamus seemed especially bothered by the solar eclipse coming this Summer (especially notable in Europe) and it sounds like he believed that something (the comet?) would be revealed during this eclipse and that people would interpret it in many different ways. Evidently the comet was not thought by him to impact the Earth but rather bring something else into an impact scenario along with the comet's bright transit by Earth. He describes this in a very similar manner to the Bible's book of Revelation and the discussion of "something like a mountain on fire" being cast into the sea and killing 1/3 of everything.

With our mystery guests and a new comet that may be right on track for these prophecies... people who have studied them are a little bit nervous these days and will be until October. Many Nostradamus scholars believe he may have meant September with his reference to "sept mois"... but the window watched by most scholars is from July through September 1999.

Also of note are a number of prophecies from Nostradamus and other prophets involving what I believe to be a direct impact from a solar flare and CME event of massive proportions. Descriptions of "fire in the sky", "solar heat upon the seas", oceans boiling cooking the fish in them, snowcaps melting in an instant, rainbows being seen at night (auroras I think).

Nostradamus uses symbolic references to "Phaeton's Chariot", a myth about a Sun chariot that was driven recklessly across the skies from India northwest through the middle east, north Africa and Europe with the heat from this "Sun Chariot" scorching the ground as it bumped against it, burning up the trees, melting the snowcaps, and boiling the seas where it touches them. This mythological journey of Phaeton in the Sun-Chariot covers the exact regions Nosty describes as suffering from these various effects that sound like a solar plasma event of some sort.

Well at least we will find out shortly,,, I hate to wait.

Funny there doesn't seem to be anything about the Hopi in here.

Just thought of a little story, online one time I was yakking with a Navaho and his last name was Dene. Well in the Canadian Arctic the natives call themselves the Dene Nation. Many were close friends. As they are plains natives I asked the Navaho if he had heard of the Dene Nation. He said that he had met one of the Dene that was a cousin (everyone is a cousin). The interesting part is that in the legends of the Navaho there is something in there about them meeting the Dene from the north and that it would be the end of times.

We of course had a good chuckle over this. One thing to note, that the Dene only number about 16,000 and live in the Mackenzie River basin. This is REALLY REMOTE country. If you can picture only 16,000 people living along the Missisippi. I thought at the time it was odd that he would have met with any of them (or even known of them).

By the way I think space is big and comets are small. The odds are against a comet disturbing the earth. As this is a little bit of a wierd story thread I thought I would add my little bit.

One thing I do believe is if we itch the earth enough it is going to scratch. We have a symbiotic relationship with earth much like the microcosmic lifeforms that live off our skin.

So...do solar plasma events ever alter the course of comets? and BTW the word comet appears in the Naval War College report-in a rather curious formulation.

Can you elaborate on that Bud?

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), August 02, 1999.

Andy, can`t easily supply a direct quotation. Probably not important, (unless there`s an alien spacecraft behind-close in to Lee) I was just being whimiscal in bringing it up.

Thanks...

Heres a link to a webpage that has information that refutes some of the claims of armageddon:

http://encke.jpl.nasa.gov/

The author of the above webpage uses facts and well observed scientific theories to substantiate his claims. I am sure that there are pages that go into more detail i.e., mathematical derivations, etc. Regards,

Hey Paul,

That wouldn't be NASA would it :)

You do know their reputation vis a vis the "face on Mars"... just to name one debacle...

Heyup Andy ol' bean: glad to see you're still kickin' about. As a devotee of Marian prophecy, I find the Hopi etc prophecies interesting, with lots of provocative parallels. Virtually every Marian prophecy talks of 'fire falling from the sky, and a great portion of humanity perishing.' Of 'mankind living unaware of its fate,' etc. Of course, that is not all they speak of: the central message is repentance, trusting God, love. John Paul II is reportedly working on a new encyclical, where he will expand on themes raised in "On the Advent of the Third Millenium." He has been quoted as saying that the new millenium will bring not "the end of the world, but a major change." He has spoken repeatedly of a "new evangelism," and in public audiences has raised the need for man to consider seriously his final end, and the ultimate purpose of life. Malachi Martin, who died last week, has written that this pope expects an event to soon occur, which will "fission human history, and particularly involve our human sun." We are about to be purified by fire, according to many locutionists. We will experience a 'Great Illumination' in which we will see our souls as God sees them. This experience will be frightening for most, but is said to be God's final act of mercy before the purification. Nothing new under the sun? We'll see.

Andy,

Would you care to elaborate on the supposed "debacle". BTW, the information (links) contained in the previous post were from a JPL webpage. A slight distinction between Nasa and other Fed Intstitutions as JPL is run by a University for the US Govnt (kinda of like Los Alamos and Livermore). I have attached some more links that discuss the techniques used to analyze the photos (source of the controversy) and limitations associated with said process:

http://barsoom.msss.com/education/facepage/face_discussion.html

Moreover, the second link discusses the controversy in a brief manner. Regards,

Spidey - fascinating, thanks for the input.

Paul - take a look at the enterprise mission web site, sorry, don't have link, NASA have not exactly been "helpful" to the Mars researchers...

Hi gang, here's what I've put together so far ...

a total eclipse over Europe (Aug. 11, 1999). After passing thru the center of France, touches the northwest coast of Turkey, crossing the deserts of Iraq, Iran, and Pakistan, to finish at local dusk in India.

(comet Lee) After perihelion, the comet will emerge from the solar glare in mid-August to become a Northern Hemisphere circumpolar object in September Lee comes out of the direction of Cancer. Again, just as prophesied by Nostradamus.

....There's a grand cross of planets in the fixed signs of Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo and Taurus. These *could* be the four beasts of the Apocalypse referred to in the Biblical Book of Revelation. A Sun and Moon conjunction in Leo opposes Uranus in Aquarius. Mars in Scorpio opposes Saturn in Taurus. All planets square each other.

Aug. 13, 1999 Aztec "Day of Destiny" - was forecast by the ancient Aztecs to be a profound turning point in human history. This happens to be the only Friday the 13th in 1999 also.

August 18, 1999 On this date, Cassini's earth-flyby occurs.

August 22, 1999 GPS 're-set' Receivers manufactured before 1994 are especially prone to failure.

... I'm still trying to put info together, but this looks to be a Very interesting time.

peace, Dan

Thanks Dan,

yes all the pieces are clicking into place...

I have followed Nostradamus for years as well. Could the fire in the sky be the heat wave our nation is going through now. In my area alone, our local fish hatcheries lost 1000 fish due to the water being too hot, this was just on one weekend of hot weather!!. People are dying from the heat, farmers are losing crops because of lack of rain. Just something to think about. So if y2k is not the 6 or 9.. then the drought will ultimately affect everyone next year by higher food prices. In any case it is wise to buy bulk now. We will need it.

No,no! no!!!! Get it right! get it right!!!

"....There's a grand cross of planets in the fixed signs of Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo and Taurus. These *could* be the four beasts of the Apocalypse referred to in the Biblical Book of Revelation."

The Four Beasts of Revelation ARE NOT ASTROLOGICAL SIGNS!!!! They are symbolic of the ride they take in the conflicts of man. The Four Horsemen have ridden many times throughout mans bloody history, Revelation points out that this ride is more vicious than those of the past.

As with all conflicts, the first horseman, (falsely assumed to be Christ returning) "Behold a white horse and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him and he went out conquering and to conquer". (Rev. 6:2)

This is a vision of false prophets. Those who beguile many to follow them and make them kings so they can conquer others. Jesus doesn't use a bow, and He is given MANY crowns, not just one. He didn't come to conquer through the use of weaponry. He conquered Satan and this age, not nations of which this passage refers. The First Horseman depicts false prophets like Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot...these leaders had been given leadership through making themselves appear to be "clothed in white", or angels of light...but were indeed demons, who then went out to conquer and subdue nations.

The Second Horseman (Rev. 6:4) the Red Horse, is symbolic for WAR. War always accompanies the rise of the false prophets. "it was granted to take peace from the Earth, and that men should slay one another, and a great sword (nuclear/biological) was given to him."

The Third Horseman is symbolic of famine and pestilence, which always follows war, and has been a telltale component of war. Look at Somalia, famine is used as a weapon to starve people to submission. But also, after war, the destruction of infrastructure leaves many to famine and disease. (Rev. 6:6)

And finally, the Fourth Horseman is Death. "..and the Grave followed with him." With all three of the above Horsemen, death always follows. But as far as the last ride of the horsemen in Revelation, Death is given authority to use the previous horsemen to "kill with sword, with famine and pestilence (disease)..." a FOURTH of mankind.

The bible interprets itself. No other onuses need to be placed upon what it written. From a symbolic standpoint, the Four Horsemen have been with us riding this Earth for millenia in man's bloody history. This century alone has proven the rise of these horsemen reached unparralelled heights. What Revelation describes in the chronology of the visions John was granted in exile on Patmos, was the FINAL ride of these horsemen...before they, and all the sorrows and death and the grave are thrown into the Pit and destroyed forever.

In one way, the ride of the Four Horsemen is frightening....but on the other hand....when you read the last chapter....we, all of us...and most all who have ever lived...WIN, because of the mercy fo God, and the supreme Sacrifice He gave that we may no longer be separated.

We just have to learn the lesson that mankind is incapable of governing himself without Divne guidance. And that lesson is going to be painful fo all of us...we have alot of crap to get through before that Great Day. Much, pain, misery, death and sorrow.

But we will in reality have done it to ourselves.

Sorry, folks, but anybody that worries about comets, asteroids, hemmoroids, or anything else because of some "prophet", be it Nostradamus or the bible, needs to take a little time out.

Ravni, I used to think you were a bigoted asshole. Now I know that you are only a bigoted, narrow minded christer. Thanks for the clarification.

If nothing particularly bad happens on August 13, will all you folks posting this hogwash about prophecies stop wasting forum space with this nonsense?

Or are you afraid to commit yourselves to declaring that all your predictions about bad things to happen on August 13 constitute a testable assertion about the validity of the underlying theories?
