Critt, an exceptional presentation. I am going to print it out tonight and read it over the next few days.

Thanks, Ray

Critt,

Thanks for helping to get the word out on this incredible program. David Gershon, the founder and president of Global Action Plan mentioned to me last week that not only are The National League of Cities and The National Association of Counties, through their technology arm - PTI - endorsing these materials, but last week FEMA decided to do the same.

Hopefully, with this kind of credible backing, municipal governments will see the wisdom of truly preparing and use these materials in a major way.

Time, of course, will tell.

Critt, you are obviously well-educated and quite intelligent. Unfortunately, I must still disagree with some of the fundamental premises that you operate under relevant to social mechanisms after late 1999. I find it understandable that you would want to encourage organization, but believe all you will encourage is the collection of good targeting intelligence by near-future looters. The first fury of Y2K will have to burn itself out (yes, many dead, including some people you know) before much of anything constructive can IMHO be possible to accomplish outside one's own household unit. Please, please read Sorokin's "Man and Society in Calamity" before you do much of anything else. I say this as someone who sees much that is both admirable and worthy of respect about you. Please read the book ASAP and you will understand why we differ so. Yours in preparation.

Minnesota,

I'll make you a deal.

You read my stuff.

I'll read yours. Deal? Faith, Critt BTW, I'm not well educated. High school, then the Army. I'm 49 years old (be 50 News Years Eve :-)) and presently I make $9/hr renting UHauls...

And,

This is my current reading:
The Clock of the Long Now

Time and Responsibility
It's written by Stewart Brand.

Even speaks clearly about Y2K
