I've seen a fact sheet on a bible sofeware called the Ultimate Bible. Anybody know their web address or how to order? I remember it includes a lot of the new versions NRSV, NLB, NKJV and was on sale for $70 US. Only the NIV and NASB needed to be unlocked. Would appreciate any help and comments too, particularly if you seen it or use it? Thank you.

Jack,

I would stay away from that package. I believe they are out of business.

The Ultimate Bible CD had three versions - Scholar's Edition, Disciple's Edition and Special Edition. It was developed by Simila Soft of Olympia Oregon. They did cease operations, although I'm not sure if they went bankrupt or if they simply closed their doors and walked away. I've been trying to track them down for a number of months (we were the Canadian distributor). We do have a few sets left over that we would be willing to sell at or below cost as updates will not be available in the future.

Brad Mix there was an earlier version of the software called The Ultimate Bible, Ultimatum for Windows 2/95 Edition. It was the Bata test of the software. I also have been trying to track them down because when I bought into the Bata test it was on the primes that I would receive a full copy of all versions when they came out. Needless to say I have not received any version nor have I heard from Simila Soft. I would be interested in acquiring one of each of the version that you may have. Please send me information on what you have and how I may acquire it.

I bought the Ultimate Bible software after hearing about it on a christian radio station approx two years ago. I bought it for my husband who is a minister. I have been trying to get in touch with the company ever since as it will not open ANY of the translations.......i have been unsuccessful in reaching them. The web address I was given was SimilaSoft.com. e-mail address was info@SimilaSoft.com Does anyone know any more info on this company? or how to get the software to work? It's ridiculous to pay that kind of money for something that won't work..........I've even had friends come over and try to get it up and running........ bad deal. Jenny Mc

Well, I don't know if anyone is still interested in the software. I don't know how "legal" it is, since it seems some links on the Internet point to something shady with Ultimatum Pro. But here's my history:

Since I re-installed Windows frequently I lost the codes to open up the one locked version on my copy of Ultimatum Pro. I kept in touch with the company and would receive a new code when I did a reinstall of Windows.

Eventually I received a call from a new company: one that claimed they bought out SimilaSoft. They were offering the full software package (which I had purchased for quite a bit of money) for a pittance: 15.00$ U.S. Eventually that 1-800 number went dead. I lost all touch with the new company.

So now I have a fully functional copy of Ultimatum Pro 1.4D. It came with a diskette and a CD. I have sinced merged the files from one to the other. The diskette is no longer needed for the setup.

The only Bible that is locked on it (locked forever, I'm afraid) is the New American Standard Version. Interested in a functional copy of the Scholar's Edition? I have no qualms about supplying one to you if you purchased the original and cannot get it to work.

Just write me.

I too am looking for a functional copy. I saw this product offered on J.R.Church's TV program called "Prophecy in the News" circa summer 2001. They might know something. I am also looking for the Amplified Bible software and the Geneva Bible with the reformer's notes? I

I too, have a Scholar Edition of Ultimate. It worked with my earlier windows (95,98) but will not open properly with my NT or XP windows. Locks up and freezes. After trying to locate, I am resolved to toss the disk. Looks like - if the price is too good to be true, it's too good to be true. :(
