To anyone who has a good knowledge of how to (not how not to) store gasoline for my generator.

Agitator is moving his site (at least he said he was starting last weekend), and it would take up to a week to get it back online.)

Best bet for gasoline storage is STEEL drums, with a ROTARY HAND pump. DO NOT use anything connected to an electric drill unless you have a death wish.

Buy a good length of braided copper strap, and ground the barrel when filling. Add stabilizer if you plan on storing more than 6-9 months. Warning: a 55-gallon drum of liquid weighs over 400 lbs.

And you should post this question on the new TB2000 preps-only forum. You'll get a BUNCH of answers from there...

I have had similiar concerns about the same. Gasoline is highly flamable and has a short shelf life. Diesel is better but a generator is damned expensive.

A few months ago I came across a web site by a fellow that has a fuel pretreatment device that converts hydrocarbons of any type. The name of the company is Global Environmental Energies Technologies. The web site is GEET.com

My house uses oil for heating and I have a 600 gallon tank buried in my yard. With GEET modifications I will be able to run my gasoline generator off of diesel.
