Wayne County Commission HostsCongressional Y2K Subcommittee On July 9 at 9 a.m.

DETROIT, July 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wayne County Commission announced Friday that it will host the U.S. Congressional Sub-Committee on Government Management, Information, and Technology for a public hearing on the Year 2000 Computer Problem from 9 a.m. - Noon on Friday, July 9.

"The Wayne County Commission welcomes this visit by the Congressional Subcommittee, which is working to increase public awareness of this important issue," said Ricardo A. Solomon, Chairman of the Commission. "We urge citizens to take this opportunity to share their comments and concerns about Y2K with our national lawmakers."

The Congressional Subcommittee will use the Commission Chamber, which is located on the 4th Floor of the Wayne County Building at 600 Randolph in Detroit.

Congressman Stephen Horn of California chairs the Subcommittee on Government Management, Information, and Technology.
