al-

The Iowa Gazette is a nice little paper, but doesn't seem to carry many home remedies on its front page (www.gazetteonline.com). It does have this article headlined for today (July 1, 1999):

Powerball players dream of easier, more generous life

Dreams of a carefree life, mixed with the desire to share the wealth, filled the heads of some of the thousands people who lined up Wednesday for a chance at last night's $145 million Powerball jackpot.

Not exactly the sort of remedy we're looking for, and the recent Final Report of the National Gambling Impact Study Commission was none too complimentary about the effects of state lotteries. A different gazette, perhaps?

sorry, i found these sites, using yahoo.category>HOME-REMEDIES.SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. not intentional.

Al-d, You are a hypocrite in the worse way. You preach the gospel, curse at people, sue people you owe money to, when the bible plainly states to repay the debts that you owe. Or did you cross that verse out? Knock, knock. Who's there? Al Capone.

You want to put cayenne pepper on an infected wound???? OK, try it and let us know how it feels will ya :-))

-- David (David@BankPacman.com), July 01, 1999.

Cayenne pepper helps stop bleeding. I've (carefully) put it on wounds, and it doesn't burn. I was surprised.

I have actually done alot of research and practical applicability testing to home remedies and herbal remedies. Cayenne works very well on minor cuts, scrapes and misc. bleeding. My husband was a non- believer too - but graciously allowed use of his body for medical research. Now when he "springs a leak" he dabs some cayenne on it.

BTW - cayenne is also good for keeping your tootsies warm in cold weather = just sprinkle a little between your socks and shoes.

oh - David you are correct - do NOT put cayenne on "infected" wounds -

-- justme (finally@home.com), July 01, 1999.

Thanks justme for noticing the "infected" emphasis. I'd also like to clarify for anyone thinking of trying it to not try this with any other hot pepper. Some habaneros and other mouth scorchers will create nasty irritations just touching them on your skin. Gardeners sometimes have to be careful just harvesting them.
