A must have in your Y2K preparations stock...and everyday living.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I notied that here at this BB you focus on Y2K preparations and I wanted to add a link that I think would be of interest to both young and old. It is a fact that due to poor crop rotation, over farming of lands, and demands in production with rising population our foods contain up to 40% less nutritional value than just fifteen years ago. You'd have to eat that much more just to gain the same amount of vitamins and minerals than in the early 80's.

I have found a mineral/vitamin supplement from Healthwatchers Systems called Mineral Nectar. It contains 72+ polycolloidal minerals plus an array of elements such as Magnesium, Calcium, Potassium, Zinc, Manganese, Silica, Selenium, Chromium, Vitamin B-12 and Biotin. I have a sercing with breakfast and dinner and with it's added cherry flavoring it is most platable!

These trace elements are being reapidly depleted from our foods more and more with the rising needs of our population. Mineral Nectar is derived from the fossil beds left over from the ancient seas that covered the Midwest millions of years ago. Scientists analyzed this fossil bed and exctracted the substance which after having Aluminum and Arseniuc removed gives us the Mineral Nectar.

A one ounce serving is enough to replenish the body's needs for every mineral, vitamin, and element for a day. This in addition to your diet will help you live longer, and stay healthier.

Some of you may be worried about not getting enough of these minerals and etc. after the Y2K rollove when you are living off diets that are restricted. It would be doubly important to have Mineral Nectar in your stock because of the aforementioned reasons why our foods are already low in naturaly occuring vitamins, minerals and especially elements. many of us have deficiencies in these areas but are unaware because there are no real noticable side effects.

This is the address for the catalog:

PS- I am Not and employee of Healthwatchers... I just truly think that this is a product that everyone whould be aware of , especially if they are worried about lack of nutrition while living off a diet that is not as varied as before the Y2K rollover.

Thanks, I hope you all find this useful!

You should include references from the peer reviewed literature. The opposite appears to be true. I must assume that if you are spewing garbage that you are selling the same.

While I have not seen that figure, I am aware of an old 1939 Congressional report on farming and soil quality. Way back then, it was determined that the soils were used up, and most of the beneficial mineral content was gone.

Now, 60 years later, and after 3 more generations of chemical fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides, and plain old abuse, how good do you think that the soil is in Farmland USA?

I use a trace mineral supplement that appears to be similar to what this person is suggesting, and I did note a significant difference over just my usual multi-vitamin. I stagger them both so as to not overdose myself.

I wish I could find that report. I'll look again, and if anyone has any ideas, let me know.

Senate Document No. 264, 1936

Dead Doctors Don't Lie

If you've never heard the above tape, check it out. You'll need RealAudio. It will make you think about the connection between your health and what you eat like never before. Some of it is questionable to say the least but it's interesting and entertaining. Joel Wallach is a master of the infomercial. He uses Senate doc 264 in his spiel. He's been selling the colloidal mineral elixer for several years now and making a bundle I'm sure. mb in NC

I told you I wasn't representing the company, was just trying to help.

Forget about the fake stuff, drink wheatgrass juice.

This is a community. We look out for each other; each with our own speciality. I will repeat; give me data from a peer reviewed article. Those all disagree with what you say.

All this talk about our soils being depleted of minerals is a bunch of crock! What is soil anyway? It is pure minerals!!!

Bill:

Let us be real. Folks in 1939 new how to run these tests [they also knew how to invade Poland]. But techniques were so time consuming that they could not survey large areas. Therefore, their data would not be useful. Last year there were thousands of articles published in this area in peer reviewed journals. If you are correct, you should be able to list 150 that support your contention [as a start].

Adam:

To all those concerned about obtaining essential minerals:

If you garden on your own land or other plots, then know that what you introduce organically into the garden plots will be beneficial for subsequent harvesting.

This factoid regarding depleted soils pertains to commercial fields. What YOU plant in YOUR garden has MANY minerals and other nutrients. Rest assured you are harvesting vitamin rich produce. Also, local farmers' markets provide many nutritious vegetables and fruits, mostly free of chemical additives. Remember to ask them about their treatments to be assured of organic quality.

The human body is able to assimilate much from less. That's the way God designed your body.

I agree with the above premise. The way it was described to me was that our food chain has been so severely altered in the last 50 years that proper foods containing proper nutrients cannot be found in our modern diets. In recent years researchers have discovered 8 essential monosacharides that are essential for proper cell to cell communication in our bodies. They tell us that only 2 of these are found in our present diet. They point to the huge increase in auto- immune diseases (asthma, diabetes, arthritis, crons, lupus, etc.) as a result of this lack of communication between our cells. Our immune systems are overreacting or underreacting to these invasions instead of properly repelling them as it was designed to do. In recent years, researchers have developed food supplements which, when added to the diet, essentially returns us to a pre-1950's condition concerning these missing monosacharides and, as a result, these auto- immune diseases are being healed. Don't ask your doctor about this yet, though, because they currently would consider all these diseases as incurrable. They can treat the symptoms a little, but that's about all. And the peer review studies have and are being done. If interested further, contact www.mannapages.com/psoder
