A question for Cherri

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Cherri,

Why is it that you posted months back that you were going to reply to Cory's challenge, and when you got caught in the lie you made up some BS excuse about taking care of your mother. Did'nt you say you had no time? But I see your post on here and have to figure some of those idiot doomers might of been right about you.

O-o-o-ohhhh! Nasty falling out in Troll-land?

Pathetic Doomer troll. The real Y2K Pro would never rely on a common profanity, or its contraction (BS). Once agin someone has penis envy and is posting using my ID.

Eat shit handle thief.

Oh...BTW....and then die.

Sorry Pro, we posted at the same time, made it look like I was talking to you. I was refering to the OTHER idiot ;)

Cheers!

Y2K Pro (the real one),

On a scale of 1 to 10 what do you see for the year 2000?

-- BiGG (supersite@acronet.net), June 23, 1999.

I think it was apparent that the post was done by a Y2k Pro imposter. I don't really understand why some of us are singled out more by these imposters than others, but we are.

In defense of Cherri, however, I'd like to take a moment to state that some on this forum feel that when one has free time it should be spent doing what THEY want one to do. Ray comes to mind in insisting that Cherri should spend her time writing up something for Cory that she's already said wasn't of paramount interest to her. George likes to INSIST that someone answer his questions, not to mention asking who is PAYING folks to post here. Free time IS free time. If Cherri chooses to spend her free time posting regarding OTHER topics, it's certainly her choice. If others choose to ignore George and post on other threads, it's certainly their choice also. When did free time lose its freedom to bullies that INSIST that folks do THEIR bidding?

I certainly hope that both the imposters and the bullies reconsider their actions, but I suspect that would be too much to ask.

If it were reversed and some doomer made a point of posting some reply to a polly dont you think most of the pollies would be all over that person if they never did post it?

AberFoyle:

I don't know that your question was addressed to me, but I, personally, would stand up against a bullie on EITHER side.

AberFoyle:

I guess I wasn't done with you yet. (grin) Bullying is typically done by someone who intends to intimidate another into responding in the desired manner.

When I was in elementary school, I was assigned a crossing-guard position. In case you're unfamiliar with the concept, crossing- guards are elementary school students who wear a white seat-belt like device that goes over the shoulder from the waist, slashes across the front, and adheres again at the waist. It's an ASSIGNED position, not a volunteer position. The rules are made clear in an orientation. Crossing guards are to stand in the street to stop traffic and allow students to cross, and in addition are to report students who engage in fighting, etc. with fellow students.

Well, wouldn't ya just know it, our school had a bully. He was a tall, welt-built lad (even in 7th grade) and I was a skinny little crossing guard. He chose my "shift" in which to begin a rumble. I reported him. He KNEW who reported him. He told me, "I'm going to kick your ass after school."

Well, I had a few choices, didn't I. I could head for home after school and hide. I could apologize for doing nothing wrong. OR, I could stand firm and tall at my post. I chose the latter. In fact, as the bully walked past me I had enough nerve to say, "I thought you said you were going to do something to me after school." He simply walked on by.

The same sortof thing is happening on this forum, whether it be to Cherri or Flint (Notice how George is now attempting to bully Flint into posting his E-mail responses to the board?) *I* don't respond to bullies, and never did. It matters not how one sees Y2k unfolding. A bully is a bully.

Anita,

Even though I don't always agree with your post on Y2K, I respect them. Because unlike Y2K Pro you bring something to the issue. A point. What I was trying to say (rather poor) in my other post was that Y2K Pro would jump on a doomer quicker then you can say "Clinton is honest, hehehe" if it were the other way around. My mistake was lumping all pollies into the same catergory(sp) with Y2K Pro. Because unlike you and others she has no class.

Have a nice day, AberFoyle

I'm a "he" Doomer boy...

-- Y2K Pro (2@641.com), June 24, 1999.

when you got caught in the lie you made up some BS excuse about taking care of your mother.

To the person who wrote that, (and I know it was not Y2K Pro) I hope you never have to spend a day like I did today taking care of a parent, and then come home to read a statement from some ignorant, smug, self satisfied, anal retentive non person who has some odd idea that I owe you an answer or explaination for my actions. Your ego is evedently inversly proportionate to your feeling of self worth. You show the typical bullies need to build up their weak ego by attempting to put someone else down.

I pity you
