A question about phone billsgreenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
I have been lurking here for sometime now, but this is my first post. I usually get my phone bill on the 10th, the 12th at the very latest. As of today I still have not recieved it, so I called the post office thinking my carrier was having trouble with my mail. I got in touch with the local postmaster, he said that there has been at least 40 to 50 phone calls about late arriving phone bills at that station alone. I called the phone company and they told me that it should of been here by the 10th, that the computer showed it going out on the 6th. I guess my question would be has anyone else had problems with late arriving phone bills?

I had the same problem myself. After calling them they told me it had been mailed but they would send out another one. Well I never got the other that they said that they would send out. I just hope whoever is getting my bill doesnt mind paying for it.

* * * 19990617 ThursdaySame problem here with Ameritech ( Michigan )! Didn't get February or March billings... Did receive "Shut-off Notice" with no problem, however. Curious, isn't it?
By phone, they ( also ) indicated that their computer records showed normal mailing of bills. Denied any "glitches" due to Y2K-related production systems implementations.
Denial...
We'll see more in the next 196 days...

I also got a truly undeserved final cancellation notice last month. I seem to remember reading about this glitch.
