London Police Warn of "Netwar" Action Day

The Computer Crime Unit (CCU) of the London Metropolitan Police and the British Bankers' Association (BBA) have issued an alert concerning the possibility of economic disruption caused by wide-spread computer "cracking" attacks on Friday, 18 June 99. Police and financial security experts reportedly met yesterday to discuss the threat posed by the so-called "International Day of Action."

Additional information developed by EmergencyNet News would suggest that the threatened attacks may be part of a larger dispersed/coordinated world-wide action by radical leftist activists, designed to target commercial concerns and government agencies in several cities. Localities believed to be involved include; New York City, London, England, New Delhi, India, Mexico City, Mexico and Cologne, Germany. Others cities and companies may be involved as well. It is believed that calls for wide-spread street protests are also being issued by several organizations. All of the actions are timed to coincide with the G8 economic meeting in Cologne, Germany.

EmergencyNet News continues to monitor these potential threats and will provide updates as circumstances warrant.

Computer attack warning issued

WASHINGTON, June 17 (UPI) - British officials have issued an alert about possible computer attacks against widespread governmental and financial targets on Friday, according to an on-line report. But the FBI says (Thursday) it has not received the alert. The "International Day of Action" is reportedly part of a more dispersed, global cyber-attack by leftist activists, and the targets reportedly include New York City, London, New Delhi, Mexico City and Cologne, Germany.

"...global cyber-attack by leftist activists..."

WRONG!

It would seem the author is insufficiently educated in "correct thinking". Everyone "knows" that only evil conservatives believing in gun rights and saving babies can do anything so terrible.
