Lots of good recipes for SPAM here in Hawaii. I have generally found imitations pale in relation to the real thing...I'll have to try the WalMart version (we now have a WalMart on Kauai!!!).

Dinty,

You better tell her to go back and get "Moore" T.P. for each case of the special meat she got "on sale". Just a thought!

Thanks Moore Dinty moore. I DO like Dinty Moore, but spam? That's why we have chickens, geese, ducks, guineas, goats, turkeys, pheasants, rabbits and keep salt blocks out for the deer. Spam IS cheaper though, and you can keep the cans. Has anyone ever eaten Peacock? Just wondering.

Monk there is a rumor going around that spam is very popular in Hawaii because it reminds the early inhabitants of human flesh. (don't let yourself get fat)

About the peacocks...

You might consider asking Janet Reno about them. Her homestead in Miami has a bunch of them, and they drive the neighbors nuts. Or, at least they used to. Come to think of it, I haven't heard much about them for a while. I wonder why????

Sure glad I don't have to depend on meat for my survival.

retch@the throne, lots of good edibles out there without resorting to spam.
