Hey Cherri

How is your report coming? You remember don't you? The reply to Cory's challenge. Did you misplace it?

Hmmm. I didnt see Cherri's name on that reply

-- SgtSchultz (SgtHansSchultz@Stalag13.com), June 08, 1999.

SgtSchultz:

It's unclear why you continuously harp on Cherri to complete this. Perhaps she's changed her mind and chooses to spend her time more constructively elsewhere?

Anita, she spends a lot of time HERE. If she has changed her mind why not just tell us NOW. Cory had made a formal request for a Polly article and Cherri voluntered in this thread:

Cherri Volunteers Here

Cherri has STRONG Polly leanings and has programming background, should be a natural for the job.

I waded through the thread you provided, Ray, and it seemed to me that Cherri had questions regarding what Cory needed and would prefer to simply discuss things in a chat room as someone else suggested.

I wouldn't know how to respond to Cory either, although I seem to meet his qualifications for a candidate. In addition, I don't think it appropriate to extrapolate on my positive experiences, just as I don't think it appropriate for Cory to extrapolate on his negative experiences.

Are you still programming, Ray?

Anita,

Why do you have your head up Cherri's ass? The answers are not there.

-- Wiseguy (SmartAss@biteme.com), June 08, 1999.

Birds of a feather

-- Johnny (JLJTM@BELLSOUTH.NET), June 08, 1999.

Anita,

I have not programmed for a living for many years. All cherri has to do if she has changed her mind is to say so. Frankly I was looking forward to her article, she seems to have considerable background in programming and a VERY optimistic outlook toward y2k. Oh well!

Anita, went back through the thread and here is the EXACT statement by Cherri:

"Cory, Give me an outline of what you want and I will give you what you are looking for. Cherri

-- Cherri (sams@brigadoon.com), April 07, 1999. "

Ray

Cheri can't even spell programmer let alone author a definitive rebuttle.

-- a (a@a.a), June 08, 1999.

'a':

Do you mean rebuttal?

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), June 08, 1999.

Flint:

No "a" means rebuttle.

Ray

-- Ray (ray@totacc.com), June 08, 1999.

OK, so my foot is hanging out my mouth on that one. Where's the rebuttal?

-- a (a@a.a), June 08, 1999.

Too funny, Flint!

Always love it when someone criticizing spelling misspells.

Betcha we don't see any of those "sysop" comments about contributing to the discussion directed at "a", either.

Hoffmeister,

did you check GM today, closed at 67 3/4. You probably want to buy on the dip here.

Ray

-- Ray (ray@totacc.com), June 08, 1999.

Naw, Ray, GM's not my kind of stock.

Tell you what, though.

Take any amount of money you want. Hypothetically, you buy gold, I'll buy Intel stock. A year from today, we compare, and the bet is the difference between the value then, closing of June 8, 2000.

Deal?

-- Hoffmeister (hoff_meister@my-deja.com), June 08, 1999.

I'm in. Gold will at least 500/oz by then, say double. Intel will be less than a third of present value.

-- a (a@a.a), June 08, 1999.

Great, "a".

Let's pick a go-between. Once we both verify, to their satisfaction, our real identities, the bet's on.

I'll nominate Chuck for starters, if he'll agree.

How much money you want to go for?

-- Hoffmeister (hoff_meister@my-deja.com), June 08, 1999.

I'm not a betting man. How about 100 grand?

-- a (a@a.a), June 08, 1999.

Cool. Chuck, you up for it?

"a", I suggest we put up at least 10% upfront. Agreed?

-- Hoffmeister (hoff_meister@my-deja.com), June 08, 1999.

On second thought, never mind. The wife went nuts when I mentioned this.

-- Hoffmeister (hoff_meister@my-deja.com), June 09, 1999.

Wow! I guess I should be honored, that someone has deemed it necessary to start impersonating me.

Anyway, "a" or Ray, the offer still stands.

-- Hoffmeister (hoff_meister@my-deja.com), June 09, 1999.

Hoffmeister,

Let's do a gentlemans bet on the following basis.

The relative purchasing power (in terms of a staple commodity such as wheat or corn or???) of an ounce of gold to that of a share of Intel will fare better one year one year from now.

Ray

-- Ray (ray@totacc.com), June 09, 1999.

Hoffmeister, thought I would present this exceptional offer once more since I had not heard from you.

"Hoffmeister,

Gentleman's Bet? As in, nothing really at stake?

I didn't think it really required a response, since it doesn't have any real substance. But consider it placed, if that's what you are looking for.
