Response to difference betwwen spot welding and mig

Spot welding has numerous advantages over MIG welding, so this is easy:

1. Speed! (Spot Welding is the fastest way to join metal.)

2. Low cost per weld

3. No need for an experienced welder (no special skills needed)

The main disadvantage of spot welding over MIG is that you usually can't tell visually whether the weld is a good one like you can with MIG. The best way to test a spot weld is to tear it apart. This results in scrap which may become objectionable.

Also, MIG welding can join fabrications made of material that is thicker than is practical to join with spot welding.

Good luck with your report.

Response to Difference between Spot welding and Mig welding

The main advantage to spot welding over mig welding (where there is a choice between the two processes) is little or no distortion of the workpiece.
