My Kodak DC265 saves images as FPX or JPEG. I use JPEG, after altering some images {brightness, contrast, cloning}with Paint Shop Pro V5.01 I've come across some images that have become damaged {dark bottom lines}.

Now I find out the JPEG format suffers from lose each time I re-save the file. My question is this, if I save my images from the camera in FPX will I be able to alter them without lose? Also is the file size about the same?
