i want to learn more about the breed. how can i find out where maine coon shows are happening in the upper midwest--wisconsin, mn, dakotas, iowa?

You won't find many shows featuring ONLY Maine Coons, but you should find a goodly selection of cat shows, and it's a rare one that doesn't have any Maine Coons in attendance. Check out the show schedules at the top of http:// www.fanciers.com/clubs.html. CFA and TICA generally have the most shows in North America.

There'll be an ACFA cat show at the Omni Center in Onalaska, Wisconsin on August 7th and 8th. Come see some lovely cats! You can also find other cat shows listed in Cat Fancy or Cats magazines. Have a good time!
