Going proofless with digital

greenspun.com : LUSENET : FlashPix Format : One Thread

I think it's time to go proofless for my weddings as well as my portraits. I've been using 2 projectors and dissolve for years on portraits. It's way too time consuming for weddings for the returns. I'm thinking that if I can drop images into a computer and show them with an LCD projector, map out an order, and make the sale then and there that I will come out ahead financially. However, I'm not certain what I need in hardware other than the projector, a lap top computer, CD burner and some way of getting the images into the computer (either a scanner or from a lab such as one using ProShots). I'm asking for ideas and suggestions from those who have the experience with what has worked for them. Thank you for your time and attention.

There is a new system, equal to or better than the Fotovix made by Videoptics. www.videoptics.com This is the perfect solution for digitizing bulk images. After a relatively small initial investment you have the capability to digitize images far faster than with scanners, and you can preview and color-correct the positive image before doing the capture. Works with any video capture card.
