cost

Although I realize that the expense costs between Doulas could differ greatly based on experience and region- I was wondering if someone could give me a 'ballpark' idea of what it might cost to have a Doula?

You are right. The price of a doula varies greatly. You could get an inexperienced but trained doula for free if she is looking for certifying births (or for her cost of parking and a babysitter if she has children). The norm, it seems, is somewhere between $200 and $500. Most doulas will work with you and if they can't support you for what you can afford they will probably help you find someone who can.
