Old, established companies have more space between themselves and their brands than new ones. Coke vs. Microsoft & Nike (i.e. what happens at the Coca-Cola company doesn't hugely impact their brands as they've been working the system for 100 years. Nike's brand and company are closely linked by the consumer. The public has decided it's the responsibility of new companies to integrate social change.
