Has anyone else seen these scenes in the theatre?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TitanicShack : One Thread

I have read on the web of the 'lost scenes'...Rose looking for Jack in steerage, a young woman at dinner saying to Rose 'It's a pity we are both spoken for'...I saw these scenes the first time I saw Titanic which was Valentine's Day. I went back 2 weeks later w/ my parents and the scenes were gone. I had not seen the Fox making of special or read 'James Cameron's Titanic' or actively searched for info on the film on the web until the 3rd time I saw Titanic. I have not seen the same version in the theatres since. Has anyone else seen this version, or am I nuts? I do hope these scenes are included in the home video version...the second time I saw Titanic, it didn't appear to be the same movie I viewed the first time. And where can I get a decent version of the script? Thanks to anyone and everyone who responds.

These scenes were cut from the movie. They never made it in. You must have been seeing things, or maybe you read about it somewhere and got confused.

As I stated above I had not read/heard/seen anything of missing scenes or the scenes in question until after I had seen Titanic for the second time...I was disappointed in seeing Titanic for the second time as these scenes were not in it...when i went to see it the second time I was looking forward to the scene where Rose goes to look for Jack in steerage as I thought she had guts for going below decks to look for this intriguing young man...when I went the second time and didn't see this scene at all, and that it immediately went to them walking on the deck, I was a bit disappointed. I know I have seen these scenes; that is not the question...the question is, has anyone else?

Amy, unfortunately no, I haven't seen a version of the movie with those parts in it, although I wish I had. I believe they're going to be in the Director's Cut to be released on video in December.

The scenes Amy describes do exist: they were filmed, and included in the test screening versions (shown to various test audiences in the late summer/early fall of 1997).

As far as I know, these are the 'lost scenes' which will eventually be included in the director's cut/special edition. Perhaps Paramount/Fox was testing audience reaction for the upcoming home video release?

An online version of the script can be found at http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Boulevard/7004/Titanic.txt. It is an early version, not the final shooting script.
