Brunswick Bypass (Maine's New Secret)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : State of Maine : One Thread

The State of Maine has just completed a new bypass for RT 95 north bound travelers who are going to Coastal Route 1.

Normally you would exit in Brunswick and (especially in the summer) fight you way through bumper to bumper traffic on Pleasant Street.

If you stay on 95 and exit at Topsham you will hit the new bypass that eliminates this problem, but Maine has decided to keep it a secret from tourists traveling north.

After spending hundreds of millions there won't be any signs to notify you of the bypass because the merchants on Pleasant Street in Brunswick feel they will loose business.

Mark the bypass on your map and enjoy a more pleasant trip!
