An Enviro-Minute: Closet Cleaning Before OSHA Arrives

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Waste Management : One Thread

Unless you are the guy actually painting the cars, chances are good you may not be aware of the full inventory in your mixing room or paint storage lockers. Go take a look. See any cans stuck away in a dim, dark corner that are clearly listed as paints containing chromate or lead? Chances are good that any OSHA folks walking thru your door will make a beeline for the paint lockers and/or mixing room looking for just such things. Chances are even better that they will tell you that your painters better be wearing "moon suits" when they paint. Contact your jobber - make sure that he knows that YOU know he should be selling you CF (chromate-free) and/or LF (lead-free) paint products.
