Brake washers

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Waste Management : One Thread

A recent test on brake washer residue showed higher levels of cadium and chromium when the sample was tested. The sample was "soupy" and had to be tested as a liquid, and therefore had to respond to different characteristic criteria that made it unacceptable for local disposal. Our recommendations upon receipt of the test results were that the client establish more frequent equipment cleaning intervals and that retesting be perfomed once a "binder" had been added to the waste product.
