now lemme make a few things clear: first this does not ENTIRELY have to do with tonight on irc, although it does play a good part. i'll get to that later but first let me tell a bigger reason i'm leaving: i just dont have much time for mame and competition. here's a list of what you can blame:
1) subspace/continuum. once you get into it believe me it's TOO addictive.
2) this whole visual pinball/pinmame explosion. potentially more addicting than subspace. even more so than crack (NO I HAVE NOT DONE IT AND NEVER WILL AND I URGE YOU NOT TO FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR GAMING ABILITY)
3) quake 3. nuff said. i frequently attend local lan parties.
now on to the #marp channel. yea yea yea i got banned from it but it also made me realize something: whatever happened to trivia? i remember a while ago every saturday i'd go to #marp and have a several hour blast triviaing. this even continued when i started typing like a perverted monkey jackass infused with horse shit.
now it seems like trivia has become a rarity. i'd say only 1 out of 3 weeks had a trivia game and it usually didn't get finished. now i'll be honest: it is getting a bit boring in there. the only 2 people i've ever been able to really talk with are bbh and jdllama, and jd's gone till july...
now onto this "I TALK LIKE A PERVERTED MONKEY JACKASS INFUSED WITH HORSE SHIT" thing. i'll tell you the exact roots of all this: HISA CHAN. his "POOR ENGLISH" seemed to cause a spark in me. it begun with horrible, nonsensical grammar structure (still spelling words right) then that gave me a feeling of stupid-power that evolved into the following timeline:
earliest days: RAINBOW ISLANDS HOW FORCE A DIAMOND; BOBBLE BUBBLE HOW MAKE ALL BUBBLE TO FRUIT
the middle ages: I DO CPS2 ALGORITHTHTMTMMM
now (hardly makes sense but more structured): i oof teh bmob bat it si bwold pu
well anyway hisa chan seemed to originate all that, and in the early and middle ages i had never even heard of jeffk (www.somethingawful.com/jeffk) or taoc teh wodner dog (www.geistmag.com/taco).
whew. so what will become of me? well i obviously wont be posting anything anymore. i won't entirely wean myself from marp, i'll still visit the page but only as a world scoreboard of mame and to download a couple of recordings. i'll also look at the message board for any game tips that may come.
and i'm not gonna leave any of u behind (whether or not you gave a shit about me and how you gave a shit about me if you did) so...
