I'm a confirmer - haven't done many of late though. A log of who's confirmed the recording could be helpful and would enforce some degree of accountability on the confirmer. As an aside I think that most of the confirmations done on MARP have been done pretty well even though there is some dispute on what the criteria is for acceptable confirmatons. Personally I refuse to confirm any recording that doesn't use standard settings etc even if it plays back correctly. I know others are of the belief that an inp should be confirmed if it correctly plays back.(posted 9409 days ago)As a rough rule of thumb I think that 1-2 months regular on the MARP board is not bad and should be sufficient - especially if a log of confirmations is kept. A minor but relevant detail is that you must be sure that the 'would be confirmer' doesn't use bulk download software like GoZilla that will automatically confirm everything on MARP.
As for editors I'm a bit more nervous about just anybody being given this ability even after 6 months of MARP service. I think there needs to be approval from both the MARP community and the team of people currently administering MARP with the persons credentials/reputation. Let's be a little careful with this one.
