In response to Phil`s comments. OK , I`m a relative " new-boy " to MAME , and I can`t speak for the other games mentioned. But as for Track+Field , I, like Tommi , feel myself to be an expert on this game ( don`t mean to sound big-headed , but those are the facts ). To imply that Tommi is jealous of a better player, is I think , somewhat naive.I consider myself a great player on this game, but realise that there are others better than me. The speeds that are involved / displayed beg suspiscion when you consider the actual controls available for the PC. The speeds also reflect the use of the Auto-fire option , which I have duplicated myself ( speed bar acceleration ...etc ). Now you may say that these players ( Phil ? ) have an excellent way to produce genuine speeds on whatever controls....but could Phil ( et al ) enlighten us as to what controls and by what method was used ? I can use the " 8-finger and 6-finger " method , no problem in an Arcade environment, but using a gamepad or joystick ( minus auto-fire of course ) simply cannot produce the speeds involved. I will of course stand corrected if evidence of a new method of obtaining speeds , using PC controls , is revealed.......but I doubt it.
