Response to joypad not found!

I'm assuming you are using dos mame, the joystick options are:

mame gamename -joy standard

mame gamename -joy 6button

mame gamename -joy 4button

to get 2,6, and 4 button joysticks to work, you might want to configure you joystick before playing too.
