Response to None of the recordings I dload play back correctly.

A very good thing to try that might solve all your problems is to delete the nvram directory, that thing creates nightmares when playing back and recording files.. deleteing the mame/nvram dir (and making sure it doesn't get recreated when you install mame) may work well helping to playback stuff...
