Sidewinders...

Does anyone know what version of MS Sidewinder they changed the shape of the D-pad. I wore out my old one, got another, and because of it's smoothness, it's virtually useless to consistently pick out a single direction. The old D-pad hurt like hell after a while, but when I pressed right I could be sure I would go right and not down-diagonal.
