MARP hiscore.dat

I have downloaded the hinames and hiscors files, but the hiscore.dat file overwrites the one needed for hiscore saving (or at least I think it works that way). Even overwriting with the MARP files, EMU+ keeps listing no names (I get "No MARP scores listed for this game"). Do I have to rename the file? If so, what's the new name? Thanks!
