dog ear infection

I have a 10 month old English Springer spaniel puppy,who has a stinky ear infection. I've had springer spaniels for most of my life and have had ear infection problems. My problem is that I can't afford to take him to the vet for about three weeks, and I would like to ease the itch, pain, smell with an alternative method. I've tried garlic juice, mixed with acidophilous, and water, which I found off the web. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas until I can get him to the vet? ,
