Purchasing a home after an auto repossession

I had excellent credit but due to a marital separation I had to give up my auto for repo. I want to purchase a home and have been told that now I have to wait till repo is out of my credit report which is 7 years. Please help. Can I have the tel. no of the independant mortage broker you mentioned to Joanne.
