A dime is still woth exactly ten cents.(posted 7363 days ago)In 1905, five dollars a day was considered a good wage for a journeyman carpenter (for a ten hour day!). Doing the math, that translates to fifty cents an hour. Taday a carpenter in that same area is lucky to get fifteen dollars an hour, so.... even though a dime is still worth ten cents, the buying power of that 1905 dime is about three dollars in todays market.
