Nasty hum in audio w/XL-1 & wireless lavalier mic.

I am shooting with an XL-1 and MA100 adaptor, with a Samson wireless lavalier mic. The receiver has an XLR out, which goes straight into the camera. I've shot several different scenes in different locations, and I still get the same nasty "hum" in the audio track for each shot...I also get the same problem when going through a mixer, (3-channel el-cheapo mixer w/ RCA outs, straight into audio1 on the XL-1), with a Sennheiser shotgun mic along with the wireless. Anybody have any pointers (different mic., mixer, DAT?) on how I can get better sounding audio? What am I doing wrong??
