fundemental change in monetary policy

hello brad, i am currently doing a thesis for my final year examinations in Dublin Institute of Technology Dublin. The main area of discussion is monetary policy. My question is, in your opinion due to recent developements worldwide especially in japan, do you feel that there has been a fundamental change in monetary policy in the major economies. thanks colin
